UV & IR radiationThe visible light region occupies a very narrow portion of the electromagnetic spectrum. It corresponds to the wavelengths 400nm
(violet) to 750nm (red).
Wavelengths shorter than 400nm are called ultraviolet radiation.They cannot be seen by the human eye. Ultraviolet radiation has the
shortest wavelengths and therefore the most damaging effect. Wavelengths longer than 760nm are called infrared radiation. This
radiation is also invisible, but it is felt as heat. With daylight we get the complete spectrum of colour wave lengths including the invisible
UV and IR radiation.
